New Zealand Travelogues

We're back again.  It's now over five years since we've owned a house in the US.  Christchurch is clearly our home base, and this year we'll be staying a full six months. Below are two dozen travelogues about New Zealand, mostly about the South Island.  New Zealand is an incredible country, and the people and scenery are wonderful. Enjoy!

Another wonderful summer in Christchurch.  Mostly busy with golf, photography and getting our house furnished.  Here's the scoop on the latter.

Summer Number 2 -- 2001-2

We're back in New Zealand for another Kiwi summer.  And after some hard looking, we bought a home!  We're planning to be in Christchurch most years, early November through early April.  Several of these following "travelogues" are about Christchurch and our house hunting life.  Below this table, you'll find more than 20 travelogues about the magnificent scenery and sights of New Zealand.  They were some of the reasons we've decided to call this place home.

Summer Number 1 -- 1999-2000

We absolutely loved New Zealand.  The following travelogues summarize some of the highpoints of our 3 month stay.  Almost all our time was spent on the South Island, which is the slower-paced, more dramatic locale.  Someone is missing a BIG bet not flying direct from LA to Christchurch, especially given all the marvelous and inexpensive golf courses that are within an easy drive of the city.  Still, you can get to Auckland relatively easily (though the flight takes about 12 hours from LA) and then fly, or drive and ferry, to the South Island.  Either way, go for it!
