Photography -- Southern Australia May, 2003
We passed the field below during our drive around in the Mornington Penninsula in Victoria. The dark, plowed trenches were a sharp contrast to the newly extruded green shoots in the raised beds and the odd white post. I especially liked the "parallel" lines and perspective in this image. Then, I flipped, modified and "posterized" the image to get the more colorful version on the right. I don't know which one I prefer. Your opinion is most welcome.
The images below are perhaps more difficult to work out. You might want to guess what the photos are of, before you read further.
These two photos are of some bunched-up black kelp laying on a beach near Port Fairy, Australia. The light reflecting off the wet, recently-washed-ashore kelp contrasted with the blown, almost-white sand -- a fascinating combination. These are two of my favorites from the group of 14 I've posted. To see the others click here.
